Two people are strolling along the shoreline of Skagen’s south beach in the North Jutland summer resort. The viewer’s gaze glides from the overgrown dune landscape, across the long sandy beach to the bright blue sea of the Kattegat in the direction of Skagen harbour. The intense colouring in the small study entitled “On Skagen's South Beach, Two People Walking at the Water's Edge ” is striking, as is the fleeting, broad brushwork used to depict the beach.
