With his expressive oeuvre, the Norwegian Edvard Munch is to be counted among the founders of modern art. His works clearly illustrate his efforts to attain the ideal expression of human emotional states. Love, fear, despair, sadness and death not only shaped Munch’s own life but also his works. Around the turn of the century, Munch was a member of the artist group “Kristiania-Bohème” as well as the “Schwarzes Ferkel” (Black Piglet) and met the Norwegian poets, playwrights and critics Hans Jæger...
