A number of people are bustling about at the beach: relaxing, standing alone or in little groups, lying in the sand – a sun hat or two can be made out. A bathing machine can be recognised on the right in the background. In the centre of the picture, the head of the slender figure standing directly at the water’s edge stretches well above the horizon line.
